Once proptech founders identify a core problem and build a product/service to solve it, a range of accelerators and scale-up programs exist. 

Yet, experienced proptech founders evaluating their next startup idea/concept is a segment with no structured support.

GEM is uniquely able to serve these individuals, given the wide range of serial proptech founders in our midst that share a give-to-get mindset.

Enter Aventurine, a peer circle for experienced proptech founders to collaborate on what's next.

Part idea generator. Part peer support. Part brainstorming. Part accountability. Part value proposition refinement. Part business/product idea teardown. Part “fail my business with me.” All parts collaboration.

Keeping with the gemstone theme, we've chosen Aventurine as a name. Aventurine is known as the Stone of Opportunity and, according to ChatGPT, the stone's properties include:

  • Encouraging perseverance and personal growth
  • Helping you embrace change without fear
  • Boosting creativity and motivation

I can't think of a better gemstone to serve as a beacon for founders seeking clarity on their next, new beginning.

While Aventurine will function as part of our Peer Circles program, it's specifically for those determining their next move rather than operators growing an existing, known entity. Bi-weekly or monthly calls (participants will determine their desired frequency) will have a different structure than a typical peer mastermind session—less "check-in" and more "collaborate." 

Think about this as a peer accelerator for repeat founders to uncover their next startup endeavor or role in the industry.

Participants must:

  • be repeat founders that either have an exit under their belt or are stepping away from an existing profitable business.
  • actively explore/evaluate starting another company or taking a role with an existing company.
  • actively kick around business/product ideas.
  • participate and help others.
  • operate in complete confidentiality.

Specifics:

  • We understand some founders are still in their lock-up periods or employed by a big company, but planning their exit. Thus, Aventurine members CAN participate in SECRET. We will NOT announce who the members are of this group and everyone accepted must agree that the identities of others shall not be shared outside the confines of the group.
  • If/when participants decide to do something outside of proptech, we ask that they step away from the group. 
  • If/when participants decide to pursue long-term consulting/agency, we also ask that they step away from involvement in the group.
  • The goal is for participants to form a new business (or take a role) rather than endlessly bat around business ideas. Therefore, participants are limited to twelve months in the group.
  • Any company formed by a member in Aventurine will receive special coverage with a Weekly Transmission (GEM) as well as a Mastermind Showcase (Geek Estate Blog).

We'll waive the normal $250 Peer Circles application fee for the first eight selected, and only charge a $500 matching fee upon successful launch of the group with 6-8 members.
