WEEKLY RADAR #395: proptech's moon, another trusted homesharing swing, Seattle Symposium with Ben Kinney, Proptech Index up 3.52% Wow

There are few things better than deep conversation while sharing a meal together when it comes to strengthening relationships. After hosting a dinner at his house this week, Drew commented "It's these types of dinners that remind me why GEM exists."

It's another busy week for GEM. Drew is off to Dallas and will join GEMs to watch the Dallas Stars v. Calgary Flames as the NHL season skates towards playoffs. On Thursday, we have another Innovators Dinner on the calendar in Dallas at Encina — there are a few spots left if you can make it. Additionally we'll be getting together in Denver at a rooftop happy hour on Wednesday, and getting expert advice on using webinars as a conversion tool with Alex Montalenti on Thursday. Further out, we dropped a Field Trip to the new Azure 3D Printed Homes factory on June 2, right before the 1000watt's Signal event. There's also an Innovators Dinner on the calendar on June 3rd.

--> Sign up to GEM Primer to get access to the calendar.

Finally, we're hard at work in GEM land programming our inaugural GEM Symposium (reserved for current or former founders only) and putting the finishing touches on our PropTech Media Database and Scholarship program… both will be formally announced this month. Like many of you, we continuing to build and grow, brick by brick.

GEM UPDATES

HUMANS IN THE ROOM
By: Drew Meyers

Thank you to those who shared an incredible evening of conversation at my house last night. That's you, Katherine Winston, Bryan Copley, Sam DeBord, Stephen Anthony, Rachel Wilka, Michael Lucarelli, and David Bluhm.

An April Fool's Joke to die for. An epic Belarus story. A discussion on the importance of friendships. A sense of belonging. Challenges for adoption of 3d printed homes. And, yes, even a little discussion about Zillow Preview. Home-cooked eggplant lasagna. Wine. All with staring at phones not at all part of the experience.

Last night was full of genuine human connection. And, for me, was a great reminder of why GEM exists.

ANOTHER PLAY ON TRUSTED HOMESHARING
By: Drew Meyers

After building Horizon (2014-2017) and investing in MyPlace, I admit it, I'm a sucker for all things homesharing—especially those products/services built with trust and community in mind. I'm not going to say that I've looked at every homesharing model since starting my travel startup journey in 2011…but I might have. Enter Homier, with a how it works section that looks familiar…
